Kite at rest

You see Brahminy Kites in the air a hundred times for every once you see one sitting down. They spend the day circling, and when they do land it is usually on something tall and bare, far from anyone with a camera.
This one chose a leafy tree and a low branch, and it sat there long enough for me to work round to the side with the cleanest gap in the leaves. The white head and chestnut body are unmistakable even half hidden.
Late morning, harsh light, and a bird that was not going anywhere. Not every frame needs golden hour.
