Owner of the wall

Cat on the stone wall

There is a particular way a cat looks at a camera when it has decided you are not a threat but also not interesting. This one had that look. It walked the top of the wall, stopped, considered me, and then looked slightly past me at something better.

The wall is the reason for the photograph. Flat stones stacked without mortar, each one a different shade of grey and rust, and the cat's coat picks up all of them. It is camouflage that was never intended, but it works.

Shot from below with the long lens, which is why the wall feels big and the cat feels like it is on a stage.
