Lavender, and one bee

Lavender in bloom hums. Stand in a field of it and the sound is constant, a low drone from thousands of bees working the flowers. Picking one bee out of that is mostly luck and a long lens.

This one had settled on a spike near the front and was working its way down the flowers with the concentration bees have. Lavender is rich in nectar and the bees do not travel far between blooms, so she stayed in the frame for a few seconds at a time.
